Write Read Speak

Write, Read and Speak after a TBI

Week Thirty-eight

Write
Read  Speak

Poor co-ordination makes it difficult to write. Poor concentration makes it difficult to read. Anomia (the inability to speak the word your thinking) makes it difficult to talk. Communication is a challenge.

I started going to an exercise class at the community college. I just wanted to left alone and do my workout. I also started volunteering for two hour once a week at the hospital. Thats all I can handle. The fatigue prevents me from doing more.

I’m unsure that I clearly communicate my thoughts when talking to other people. I feel the need to ask if they understand. I often have troubles saying the words I’m thinking of and have to describe the word or meaning. I find a synonym or reword the sentence all together. I’m slow to respond when people ask me questions. It takes longer to process the information being said.

I often misspell words because I’m concentrating on writing the letters correctly.
